MSBOA Scholar Instrumentalist Award
Okemos, Mi. - The Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association is proud to announce the awarding of the prestigious "MSBOA Scholar Instrumentalist Award" to Anna Costa, student at the International Academy of Macomb. This award is meant to recognize those young musicians who achieve both academically as well as musically. The student was nominated by Band Director, Adam Kosi, for her outstanding accomplishments in music and academics. Each member school may nominate only one scholars musician per year in orchestra and band, making this a very outstanding accomplishment.
The Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association is an organization of over 1600 band and orchestra educators throughout Michigan, dedicated to improving school instrumental music in Michigan. Founded on a single0-district basis in 1934, it has grown to 16 regional-district associations in both peninsulas, serving over 1900 public, parochial and private schools. Through numerous student-oriented activities such as festivals, workshops, and teacher in-service functions, MSBOA strives to provide continual growth for instrumental music. Each year over 100,000 students in Michigan participate in MSBOA festivals, either individually or as a part of larger groups.
The Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association congratulates Anna Costa and Adam Kosi of the International Academy of Macomb on the nomination and this prestigious award.
We are very proud of this young musician as she represents the International Academy of Macomb.
