Acceptance to IA Macomb
Students qualify for admission based on completion of the
application process, academic records and placement test
results.
Each district gets a specific number of seats at the IAM.
If student interest exceeds available space, enrollment will be
determined by both lottery and the testing results. Local
districts will notify applicants of the date/place/time of the
lottery and lottery results.
Parent Notification Letters Regarding Student Applicant
Status When scoring of the IAM Admission Tests is completed, the
following notifications will be made:
- Parents will be notified if their student does not
qualify for the IAM.
- Parents will be notified if their student qualifies but
needs additional assistance prior to the start of the school
year.
- Parents will be notified if their student qualifies and
the number of district applicants does not exceed the
district allocation. The notification letter will request a
payment to cover the technology laboratory fee.
Payment of this fee will reserve a student seat for the
upcoming school year.
Parents of students who qualify in a district that exceeds
its seat allocation will not be notified by the IAM. The
district will inform parents as to the date, time and location
of the IAM lottery. Based upon lottery results, parents of
students who fall within the number of allocated district seats
will receive a letter of acceptance from the IAM with fee
information to reserve a seat for the upcoming school year.
Parents of students who are placed on the Waitlist will be
notified as openings become available.
